Importing Toro Price Files April 16, 2012 barney

Toro part lists have a interesting feature that no other supplier we have dealt with in the last 20+ years have.  Toro contains duplicate part numbers which are sensitive to location of dashes. For example:

Part Number Description
100-3017 PIN-ARM, LIFT
1003017 REAR WHEEL AXLE
325-11 SCREW-HH[.500-13X2.750,GRZ,YZ]
3251-1 SCREW-PPH[10-24 X 3/7 GR 2 YZ]

C9 can now support such setups.  Read on for more details

Firstly, you need to configure the franchise to indicate that the franchise can contains duplicate parts.

To do this goto:

  • Spares
  • Setup
  • Add/Edit Franchise
  • Select Franchise in question
  • Select Advanced Tab
  • Click on checkbox 'Price file contains duplicated parts'

Now import price file as you would normally.

Now in c9,  duplicated parts will now be accessible.

You key in a part in c9 as you would normally; i.e. with or without dashes.

If the part is a duplicated part, c9 will select one of the parts to use. If the part selected is not the correct one. Use F2 to lookup parts, you will see duplicated parts very close to one another in the list.

Trick: if you key in part number followed by '##1' then this will give you the duplicated part.  If duplication ever results in say 3 parts colliding, then type in '##2'.  The number keeps increasing for each collided part.

Follow Up : working on a further enhancement.  When you key in a part number that is duplicated, you will get duplicate part list screen to choose from. This will be in version 4.281 onwards. i.e.:
