Previously we have instructed customers to download java directly from java.com. Sourcing java from here is now strongly discouraged. Oracle recently modified the licensing terms. Downloading java for Oracle may require an additional commercial/subscription license. The following version of java is free for use with c9. Version 8 update 202.Mac OSX Users Only!
Although c9 mostly works on Macs a couple of caveats : main one is that our capacity to provide technical support is very limited and Windows remains a principal supported platform. use c9 on Mac at your own risk.
